GP Training

gp_and_studentMeddygfa Canna Surgery is proud to be actively involved in the training of future generations of doctors and general practitioners.  We provide teaching for 3rd and 5th Year Medical Students at different times of the academic year.  You will be informed if a student will be accompanying a particular doctor when you book your appointment.  If you do not wish a student to be present during your consultation, please advise the receptionist who will arrange an appointment with another doctor or with the doctor of your choice on a different day.

We are recognised as a Postgraduate Training practice, affiliated to the University of Cardiff School of Medicine, to provide postgraduate education to GP Registrars.

Registrars are medically qualified and many have a great deal of hospital experience.  Their training in the practice is centred on the role of the General Practitioner.  They are available for consultations in exactly the same was as all other doctors in the practice.

Our current GP Registrars are Dr Mathew Rogers (M) until 4/8/2020 and Dr Caroline Saunders (F) until February 2021.

Dr Hannah Turley will join us as a GP Registrar from 5/8/2020 for 1 year.

Appointments with Dr Rogers, Dr Saunders and Dr Turley can be made at Reception.
